Is Nicklaus record safe

This weekend I was watching the World Golf Championships at Firestone and was thinking about the future of Tiger Woods and it made me think that perhaps he won’t pass Jack Nicklaus’s record and that perhaps this is a good thing. Tiger has already broken most golfing records and I think Nicklaus should keep the record for the number of majors won.
Tiger has played against a relatively weak field of golfers and very few would compare the likes of Mickleson, Westwood, Stricker, Duval, and Montgomerie to players like Arnold Palmer, Tom Watson, Lee Trevino, Gary Player and the great Seve Ballesteros. Nicklaus picked up major victories over a twenty four year period playing against some of the other greats of the game from different generations. Tiger annihilated the golfing world between 1997 and 2008 winning 14 majors but has rarely had to play against players of the calibre of those Nicklaus regularly beat.
If you look at the all time record for majors won and you seen that Player has 9, Watson 8, Palmer 7, Trevino 6, and Ballesteros 5 whereas Tiger’s closest competitor in modern times is Phil Mickleson who has won only 4 majors. Whilst Mickleson may have won more if he was playing in a different era he would have struggled in the era that Nicklaus, Palmer, Player and Watson dominated.
Anyway, that was just a thought that came to me in between watching the golf and playing poker. My online rake back poker went pretty well with a number of tournaments all reaching the late stages and my cash games delivering some steady returns. It wasn’t smooth throughout but I ended up on every cash game table I started and that hasn’t happened for a while.
My rakeback payment also came in recently so that is why I have been playing MTTs. The rakeback pokerbonus is always a good time of the month for my bankroll as it comes as a large lump sum and boosts my bankroll enormously. I always then fire up a load of MTTs to try and parlay it into a big score. Probably not the most profitable thing to do with it but I’m pretty happy overall.

United Stroll the Community Shield

The season has now started for all the lower league teams and Manchester United and Chelsea enjoyed a run out at Wembley with the Chelsea team looking a shadow of their former selves from last year. The World Cup has left several players with a footballing hangover that from the looks of it will take at least a month to shift.
The game was controlled by United from start to finish and when Chelsea did manage to score United were simply stung into action and scored again to ensure they won by two in a game they never looked likely to lose. There have been many stating that United aren’t strong enough and don’t have the depth in midfield but with a young squad partnered with the experience of players like Scholes and Giggs they look to be maturing into a very strong title challenging team.
Chelsea have some problems to overcome this year with players like Lampard, terry and Cole all struggling for fitness after their dismal World Cup showing. The marquee signings haven’t materialised and this has left the Chelsea squad looking weak in comparison to their closest rivals. It will be a big season for Chelsea with Manchester City now in possession of the biggest cheque book.
My weekend was spent watching my team lose at home and then a day and a half on the poker tables. I am currently looking to book a holiday to Vegas and need to earn some serious money. I’m multi-tabling my heart out trying to boost my rakeback from www.rakeback.co.uk and hopefully earn enough to pay for my holiday and a good sized bankroll for when I am out there.
I have enough saved at the moment from online rakeback poker to lose several buy ins at $1/$2 but would prefer to warm up at these and then move up to higher limits where the rake is less painful. If things go well over the next month at the online rake back poker tables and with a good rakeback payment I should get to my target and be ready for Vegas in September. Fingers crossed!

The Party Rakeback Poker For you

Rakeback poker is really the only poker to play, unless the jackpot on a non rakeback poker site is really that good. The reason for this is that every time a hand is dealt and a pot collected, the house takes some of the pot for itself. This is called the rake. rakeback poker sites give you a percentage of that money back, hence the name rakeback.

You may feel at this point what is wrong with the house taking a percentage of the pot? In essence nothing, but if you have worked hard all week, all month, all year to play a good hand of poker, then you want to maximise what you win, and rakeback poker allows you to do that, the other kinds of poker game, do not.

The trouble with being a fan of rakeback means that you do spend long hours looking for the best rakeback poker sites. Many rakeback on sites are small percentages and carry small jackpots or bonuses. This takes the heart out of your for playing on the sites, and makes making the effort to play them, an effort, which is not how it should be. Also, as you are comparing different kind of statistics, you are also wasting time that could be used beating that two pair with a full house for the large pot. When you are searching these statistics deciding what the best one to play on is, you realise this, and this makes you more disheartened.

Also, what is a good jackpot on one rakeback site can change on almost a daily basis, so you have to keep searching, or risk winning a hand that could have been far higher on another site. This can really be annoying if you find that out afterwards.

With so many ipoker rakeback
sites to choose from, and as poker is very competitive, it is always a good idea to refine your game, learn when someone is bluffing, and formulate strategies for better poker play. This will help you spot the bluffers, the sharks, and the fish. The trouble is that many rakeback sites have tips and strategies that contradict one another and you can lose many a dollar playing on a site one way, only to discover the tip was not the best after all. No fun. Also, tips can be very subjective to an individual player, so always proceed with caution when following tips.

Is Online Gaming Industry Recession Proof?

According to an audit published by Ernst & Young “All Bets off for Recession” the online gaming industry will continue to experience economic growth through the recession as many other industries falter.
The good news is that the growth in popularity of online poker and online bingo sites have injected some interest in the traditional gambling sector with more and more players choosing to include live casinos and bingo halls into their weekly entertainment. Although according to Ernst & Young some parts of the industry having already suffered due to adverse regulatory changes, other parts are still untested by the recession.
Ernst & Young states that the ability to attract customers from across the world gives online gaming a huge advantage over traditional gaming. Some of the top online poker rooms such as Poker Stars Rakeback have peak time player traffic of over 50,000 unique users from the US, UK, Europe and Australia for example. Unlike traditional land based casinos there is no restriction on the number of players that the site can support and no added costs for increased capacity. Land based casino have huge expenses in staff wages, regulatory costs and overheads which the online gaming sector avoids.
Online gaming operators can also take comfort in the fact that people are increasingly staying at home and placing low stakes online and, that because online gaming attracts a younger audience, it means players are less affected by falling share or property prices.
“The online gaming industry is likely to do better than other gaming sub-sectors as it is not solely reliant on the state of the UK economy, it is still going through a growth phase and with consumers saving money by staying at home I believe it will be a winner.” commented the head of hospitality and leisure at Ernst & Young, Cameron Cartmell.
Much of the growing popularity comes from the huge financial benefits that online gambling operators offer players. For years Online Poker rooms have offered Massive deposit bonuses and loyalty programs. Since 2004 Online poker players have also been enjoying a system known as Rakeback with variations like Cake Rakeback and Full Tilt Rakeback , etc.which is similar to a cash back scheme. These types of promotions are unique to the online gaming industry because of the close relationships the operators have with affiliates. Only a single factor of money back opportunity gets everyone interested and excited about investing rather gambling online. The trend of online casinos has been quite steady as far as their revenue generating power is taken into consideration.
The strength and stability of the online gambling industry was reinforced last year when Google lifted their ban on paid advertising for UK licensed operators.
One can only wonder if the newly appointed online gambling friendly president and continued appetite for online gambling will force the US Government to reassess their anti online gambling laws in order to profit from one of the few industries that is likely to not only weather the recession but actually grow.

Rakeback –The Ultimate Bet of Yours

Hollywood has always had a love affair with gambling. Nothing can beat the thrill, suspense and exhilaration of a well executed poker showdown or match the glamour and status a Vegas and Monte Carlo casino symbolises.
While poker can be seen in a countless number of TV-series and movies, usually in set the Wild West and with draw poker which is has now been replaced by Texas Hold’em as the game of choice for most players. A skilled director and actor can show on screen all the ranges of human emotion during one single hand and it is this action that filmmakers have used time and again in some of the most memorable films ever made. The Rakeback poker is all set to all set to spark your ambition.

Rounders -Online poker rooms, the televised World Poker Tour and this movie called Rounders starring Matt "Babyface" Damon as Mike McDermott are least part of the reason poker is as big as it is today. There's still no other movie that's about modern-day poker like this one.

Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels - This movie isn't about poker, but it's the high-stakes underground game of three card brag that puts the story in motion. After three friends stake the fourth, Eddy, to play in the game with Hatchet Harry, Eddy ends up not only losing all the money they gave him, but an additional half-million pounds. How they try to get the money to pay Hatchet Harry back is a hysterical, action-packed ride, which is well-worth watching. This film is to men what sex and the city is to women. A tantalising glimpse into a world no one you know lives in but would love to experience.

The Sting - This isn't really a poker movie either but it does contain one famous poker scene where Paul Newman cheats the crime boss in a high-stakes poker game onboard a train. Newman's boozy, needling performance and the shocked expression on Shaw's underling's face when he realizes he has been out-cheated reveal a glimpse of how below the polite veneer, poker is usually taken very seriously.

The Cincinnati Kid – This is undeniably one of the best gambling movies of all-time The film follows a young card player through New Orleans as he tries to win the title of the best poker player of all time . This film is the definitive poker movie, iconically poised and tangibly grubby, as close to a morality tale as the dirty underworld might dare tell.
The Gambler - Karel Reisz's scorching portrayal of the gambler shows the inevitable, wilful slide into oblivion that faces the man who cannot resist. James Toback's script focuses intently on the element of self-destruction which haunts Alex Freed (James Caan) as he repeatedly places bets believing each one will dig him out of the hole into which he is so enthusiastically burying himself. Good gambling movies have managed to bring positive attention to the world of gambling and have played a part in boosting the popularity along with the generous benefits of online poker deals like Full Tilt Rakeback and others like Ultimate Bet Rakeback.

Multi Tabling – It’s the Future!

Some players cannot imagine trying to concentrate on more than one table at a time; whereas online poker players who have signed up to a rakeback deal use multi-tabling as a way to generate maximum rake. By playing four tables at once, you are essentially speeding up time; instead of taking an hour to play 100 hands, you can do it in only 15 minutes!
Theoretically, you could be making four times as much, as you would by playing only one table, assuming your quality of play does not decrease. Whether to play one table, or multi-table, is a question many players ask themselves. There is no right or wrong way; it really depends on your skill set.
There are many benefits to playing multi – tables. For players with smaller bankroll it gives an opportunity to play more hands. The ability to play four $1/$2 instead of playing one $4/$8 table gives you the chance to make the same money using a smaller bankroll.
Once you have got your head around multi tabling you will never look back. One of the main gripes of the super star online poker professionals when they get to play in live events is that the place is so slow they are a bit bored. Players who multi-table have to make four or more times the decisions, in the same amount of time, as someone playing a single table. This doesn't give you much downtime for your mind to wander, or to browse the net. On the other hand some players prefer to focus their attention on one table at a time. By playing multiple tables in the games like Party rakeback and Betfair rakeback you are decreasing your quality of play in favour of quantity.
One of the keys to poker is focus, the less you focus on what your opponents are doing, the greater the chance you miss out on important information. Multi-tabling can lead to mis-clicks; you may have meant to call, and instead you folded, because there was too much going on. One of your tables may pop-up over another causing a mis-click.
Probably the main reason why so many poker rooms have increased their multi tabling capabilities is that players clear bonuses, and earn rakeback faster. Bonuses and rakeback are based on hands, the more hands you play, the more money you make!

Rakeback Tips Playing Cash Games

5 Tips to make you a better cash game player
Cash games are played for "table stakes". On Betfair Poker, players can play from as little at 5cents/10cents blinds right up to huge stakes such as $1,000/$2,000.
